Quick answers to common questions.

Do you store card details or receive card photos?
No. Card details are entered into Stripe’s checkout and handled by Stripe. Dromium never stores full card numbers or CVV codes. You see booking, payment, and hold status in the dashboard, but sensitive card data stays with Stripe.
Can Dromium place a security deposit hold (pre-auth) and release it automatically?
Yes. Dromium supports Stripe-backed holds (authorizations) and can release them when the rental is completed. If there’s an agreed charge (damage, late return, extras), you can capture partially or fully depending on how you configure your flow.
Where do payouts go—do you ever hold my money?
No. With Stripe Connect (Standard), payouts go from Stripe to your connected Stripe account. Dromium doesn’t custody funds. We show payment/hold status in the dashboard and (optionally) apply platform fees via Stripe mechanisms.
Do security deposit holds incur Stripe processing fees?

A hold (authorization) by itself is typically not a completed card payment. If the hold is released without capturing, Stripe generally does not charge processing fees because no successful charge occurred.

If you later capture an amount (for example, converting part of the hold into a real charge for damage, late return, or extras), that captured amount is treated like a normal card payment and Stripe processing fees apply. Exact rates depend on your Stripe pricing, the card type, and the currency.

Note: Dromium doesn’t take a platform fee on security holds—only Stripe’s card processing fees apply when a charge is captured.

Is there a widget installation fee?

No. Widget installation is included. We embed the booking widget into your existing website for you—no setup or installation fee.

We’ll also match the widget to your site’s look and feel (fonts, colors, spacing) so it feels like a native part of your brand—not a bolted-on checkout.

Implementation typically includes: widget embed, Stripe connection, and an initial setup of your cars and booking rules.

Can I try Dromium in a test environment without touching my live website?

Yes. We can set you up in a test setup first, so you can explore the dashboard, pricing rules, and booking flow without changing your live site.

Typically, we’ll either (1) connect a test environment with Stripe test mode and a staging link, or (2) embed the widget on a private page (or subdomain) that only you can access.

When you’re happy, we switch the widget onto your real website and connect your live Stripe account. Nothing goes live until you approve it.
